The Caelum-spira, or Atmospheric Drifter, is a translucent, gelatinous entity that glides effortlessly through Aethelgard's turbulent upper strata. Its semi-permeable membrane acts as a biological filter, capturing high-energy ionized particles from the planet's intense magnetospheric storms before they bombard the surface. This unique scavenging behavior not only sustains the creature but also inadvertently shields lower-altitude ecosystems from lethal radiation spikes. Visually, the Drifter resembles a pulsating aurora, shifting colors as it metabolizes captured charges into bioluminescent displays. Its gelatinous body expands and contracts rhythmically to maintain buoyancy against fierce magnetic winds. While seemingly fragile, its cellular structure is remarkably resilient, allowing it to thrive in an environment that would instantly sterilize terrestrial life forms.
