Vapor-vorax, or Steam-Stalkers, are serpentine apex predators inhabiting Aethelgard's hyper-active rift zones. Their heat-sensitive scales detect thermal signatures from deep within the canyon fissures, allowing them to ambush Sanguisfluxus as these slow-drifting herbivores pass overhead. The Stalker coils silently in superheated steam plumes before launching upward, its jaws designed specifically to pierce and rupture the gas sacs critical for the prey's buoyancy. Once a target is grounded by this precise strike, the Stalker delivers rapid, constricting coils to immobilize the massive creature. This specialized hunting strategy exploits the Sanguisfluxus's inability to dive quickly in the dense canyon atmosphere. The predator thrives in these volatile thermal currents, turning Aethelgard's tectonic instability into a lethal hunting ground where steam and shadow conceal its serpentine form until the final strike.
